INDENTURE LEVELA number that represents the specific level of the top down structure specified on the Bill of Materials
ASSEMBLY LEVELAn integer utilized to identify the parent-child hierarchical relationship for all parts included in the end item system. Utilize “1” for a highest level of assembly/part number (e.g., the prime mission product, Variant A, Variant B, bumper kit, add-on armor kit), utilize “2” to identify assemblies/part numbers which - when combined - create the highest level of assembly/part number (i.e., Assembly Level “1”). Utilize “3” to identify assemblies/part numbers which - when combined - create the part number listed in the “Parent Part Number” column (i.e., the part number at Assembly Level 2). Repeat the aforementioned pattern/methodology for assembly levels “4” and greater.

At least one Assembly Level “1” shall be reported; multiple Assembly Level “1” may be required if multiple end items will or could be DD-250’ed to the Government (e.g., Variant A and Variant B would both have a Assembly Level “1”). NULL/missing values are not allowed.

may be used to supplement the software identifier.Software identifiers consist of a name or other identifier and a version identifier, assigned by the developing contractor. The identifiers relate the software to its associated configuration documentation (software requirements specification, software

design documents, object description model documents, etc.), revision and release date. The software and version identifiers are embedded within the source code, and are marked on media containing the software.

SOFTWARE VERSION IDENTIFIEREach Version of the Software CSCI has a version identifier supplementing the software identifier.Software units, at and below the CSCI level might be identified using the developing contractor convention, typically the conventions of the software language in which it is written.
FIRMWARE IDENTIFIERHardware configuration items or devices containing firmware code.Used in cases where both the hardware device and the embedded firmware code are documented and controlled via the same engineering design document (drawing) and the Part or Identifying Number (PIN) for the device with the code embedded identifies the firmware. Or in cases where the hardware device and the software to be embedded are documented and controlled separately. The device is identified by a PIN and serial number; the embedded software is identified as a software configuration item
PART NUMBER STATUSe.g. Active (used if the row represents the current design), Inactive (used if the row has been superseded by a more current “Active" design), Obsolete (a special form of “Inactive" used to identify that a change in design occurred due to obsolescence rather a performance change). The contractor is encouraged to utilize whatever values it believes will best represent the status of a row but shall provide a data dictionary of utilized terms.
SERIAL OR LOT NUMBER (NHA)Uniquely identify an individual unit or specific group of units of an item (when used with the manufacturer's identifier, i.e. CAGE code, and the basis for serialization -- product-tracking base identifier) Serial and Lot numbers are unique, consecutive, and non-duplicating for a specific nomenclature or part identifier.

Sometimes referred to as the supplier. The name of the subcontractor/manufacturer who supplies the part to the prime contractor for additional and/or final assembly into the Assembly Level “1” end item. Enter the prime contractor’s nomenclature if produced by the prime contractor or if the level of assembly includes both prime and supplier/manufacturer provided parts/assemblies. Enter “TBD” for parts/assemblies which do not yet have a known source of supply. If multiple sources of supply are or could be utilized, report the data using one of the of the following formats:

1) Enter “MULTIPLE:” followed by a comma delimited list of supplier/manufacturer nomenclatures. If a Supplier/Manufacturer Nomenclatures includes a comma(s), escape the comma(s) by putting a forward slash (“/”) in front of it (for example, “Joe’s Breaks, Tires, and Oil Filters” and “Jan’s Tires” would be entered as “MULTIPLE: Joe’s Breaks/, Tires/, and Oil Filters, Jan’s Tires”).
