About this file
This document contains questions from a potential bidder regarding a federal contract solicitation for construction services. The solicitation is for project 664-CSI-115 4 West Nuclear Medicine PET CT II to fully renovate approximately 1200 square feet of an existing Nuclear Medicine Department at a Veterans Affairs medical center to prepare the space for a new PET CT scanner. Key details include that the interstitial space where cable trays are located requires 8-hour asbestos certification and appropriate personal protective equipment due to the presence of asbestos. Drawings issued with Amendment 1 are to be utilized for bidding rather than those issued with the original solicitation. A physicist's report is provided as an attachment.

Questions Asked by Potential Bidder
1. Is the 4th floor interstitial area clean or will 8-hour asbestos certification with respirator and bunny suit be required to access the interstitial area? All the Interstitial has asbestos and appropriate certificates and fit test are required to work in the area, along with appropriate PPE
1. Drawing ED101 shows a cable tray to be removed – Is that in the interstitial space that needs asbestos certification to enter the area? There is no ED101 sheet, and as per interstitial space please refer to question 1
1. Please provide the physicist’s report. Please see attached
1. Please verify the correct drawings for bidding. Amendment 1 issued drawings dated earlier than the initial set issued with the solicitation. The DATE of the IFC set is 11/6/2020*
*Please note the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural all have a date of 12/4/2020. Architectural drawings to be utilized for bids are dated 11/6/2020.
**As a side note to Question #2, there IS a drawing that shows photographs of an existing cable tray to be demolished, drawing E-006, not ED101 as the RFI asks. And yes, that would be located in the interstitial space that requires appropriate certification and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enter.
