About this file

This document is a Pre-Bid Request for Information (RFI) response for the VA Milwaukee project to Renovate Building 111 Audiology 5BN (Project Number 695-22-117). The RFI covers 151 questions and responses addressing various aspects of the project, including drawing completeness, specifications, construction requirements, and project logistics. Key project details include an anticipated award date within 30 days of bid opening, Notice to Proceed expected in mid-February, and construction start planned for early March.

Significant requirements include full-time on-site supervision, specific quality control management restrictions, after-hours work in certain areas, and compliance with infection control protocols. The project involves renovating an audiology clinic with complex requirements such as pneumatic tube system modifications, specific wall and floor treatments, and careful coordination with ongoing hospital operations. Multiple amendments are referenced to address missing drawings, specification clarifications, and technical details. The VA will contract a Commissioning Agent, and contractors must follow strict guidelines for site access, utility usage, and work scheduling to minimize disruption to the medical facility's daily operations.

We found inconsistencies in the project drawings that require clarification before we proceed with pricing: • Mixed labeling: some sheets marked “Not for Construction”, others stamped/revised, and several with no issuance info. • Missing information on multiple sheets (dimensions, sheet numbers, notes). Please confirm whether an updated Issued-for-Construction set will be released (and when) or advise how you would like us to proceed.

This set of documents is for bidding only and "Not for Construction". The "For Construction" documents which will include all the amendments will be issued prior to start of construction. Please clarify the missing information, and the sheets in question.

0002 11/18/2025

15 11/13/2025 Also please note that Drawing page AI406 seems to have some formatting issues and does not read very clean. The Audiology booth’s vendor has called me looking for dimensions. I noticed the mis formatting on the drawing at that time.

Sheet AI406 will be reissued. Please refer to sheet AE105A for the dimensions of the depressed area the Audio Sound Boothes set into.

Can the work in Room 5454 be completed in sequence with he normal construction? Or will all work be required to be complete in Phase 3? This would result in extra trips for the Pneumatic Tube trade as well as the drywaller. It would be preferred for the work in this room to be completed during the Main construction in Phase 2.

This work can be completed out of sequence. The GC should propose a work schedule to minimizes the disruption to the occupancies of room.

Grout bed and tile adhesive were tested; bulk samples were non-detect. The Hazardous Materials report is attached in Amendment 6. Bid should assume ACM could be present.
