About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) #6 submitted by Calvary Contracting, Inc. regarding Project 610-20-103 for the renovation of Building 16 at the Department of Veterans Affairs facility in Marion, IN (1700 E 38th St).
The contractor's question, dated 1/14/25, concerns the demolition of the existing fire system and asks whether it is acceptable to have no fire alarm system protection/notification in the construction/project area during the demolition. The government's response, provided by Lance Sprinkle on 1/24/2025, indicates that the contractor must request hot work permits, supply adequate fire extinguishers, and an Interim Life Safety Measure (ILSM) will be put in place with VA safety prior to starting the project. The RFI was directed to Contracting Officer Christopher C. Lee at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Indianapolis, with copies sent to Chris Lee, Rick Stump, and Kyle Kellogg.
