About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI #44) regarding a renovation project at Building 16 of the Department of Veterans Affairs facility in Marion, Indiana (Project Number 610-20-103). The RFI was submitted by Valiant Construction, LLC of Louisville, KY on January 13, 2025, with a reply needed by January 20, 2025.
The contractor inquired about potential conflicts between new underground plumbing work and existing structural elements, specifically regarding keynote 28 on drawing AD100 which requires saw-cutting the existing slab. The architectural firm Viridian Architectural Design, Inc. responded on January 23, 2025, indicating that no original drawings of Building 16 exist and that the contractor must be prepared to use strategic coring and other necessary means to determine and resolve any conflicts when executing the scope of work. The project is being overseen by Contracting Officer Christopher C. Lee at the Department of Veterans Affairs office in Indianapolis.
