About this file
This document contains responses to contractor questions regarding replacement of the fire alarm system at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The medical center campus has an existing Notifier 3300 fire alarm system that will be fully replaced with a new system as detailed in the contract drawings and specifications. Key details include that new control panels, initiating devices, notification devices, and control modules will be installed as necessary for a code compliant system. The contractor is directed to existing drawings for details on networking fire alarm panels, conduit and cabling locations, and acceptable conduit materials in various spaces. The contractor must coordinate all work hours with the VA medical center and obtain approval from the VA and architect before using wiremold or relocating devices.
