About this file

This is an Insurance and Bonding Requirements document issued by Collier County Board of County Commissioners in Florida for professional services related to design work on Veterans Memorial Boulevard Phase II. The document establishes mandatory insurance coverage and bonding requirements that all proposers and contractors must maintain throughout the contract term. Key insurance requirements include Worker's Compensation at statutory limits per Florida Statutes Chapter 440, Employer's Liability of $1,000,000 single limit per occurrence, Commercial General Liability with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, and Automobile Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence. Additional specialized insurance may be required depending on project scope, including Watercraft, Maritime Coverage (Jones Act), Aircraft Liability (minimum $5,000,000 if applicable), Pollution, and Professional Liability coverage. All subcontractors must comply with identical insurance requirements, and Collier County must be named as an additional insured on all relevant policies with primary and non-contributory coverage.

Proposers are required to submit a bid bond equal to 5% of their cost proposal with their initial submission. For projects exceeding $200,000, Performance and Payment Bonds must be submitted with the executed contract in an amount equal to 100% of the contract award, with costs borne by the selected proposer. All bonds must be underwritten by sureties rated "A-" or better by A.M. Best Company and authorized to do business in Florida. Certificates of Insurance must name Collier County Board of County Commissioners at 3295 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL 34112 as the certificate holder and must include thirty (30) days cancellation notice provisions. The document specifies that Collier County will procure and maintain Builders Risk Insurance on construction projects where deemed necessary, with premiums billed to the project rather than included in contractor proposals. Proposers accept these insurance requirements by submitting a bid and may be required to provide evidence of insurability within five (5) days of award notification.
