About this file

This is a Scope of Services document prepared by the Broward County Aviation Department for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shuttle bus and transportation services contract. The document specifically details the technical requirements for the Rental Car Center Busway Signs system, which consists of six displays located at the Rental Car Center, with each display comprising two individual screens oriented in opposite directions (East and West facing). The system is operated and managed through twelve Raspberry Pi computers, each identified using a naming convention that indicates location, display number, and screen orientation (for example, 5FLR1-C1E designates a Raspberry Pi at the current shuttle company facility, Stop C, Display 1, facing East). The Raspberry Pi computers are administered through the YoDeck platform, which provides status monitoring, content management, and workspace organization for the airport installation.

The technical infrastructure requires ongoing management of the digital display network as part of the broader 24/7 shuttle bus and transportation services operation. The contract encompasses management and operation of shuttle buses, trams, and other vehicles at the airport facility. Vendors responding to this solicitation must submit proposals electronically through BPRO and are subject to requirements including living wage provisions, workforce investment program compliance, bonding requirements, and Title VI solicitation requirements. Submissions must be received by the specified closing date and time, and vendors are encouraged to submit documentation in advance to facilitate timely review.

Rental Car Center Busway Signs

Six (6) displays are located at the Rental Car Center (RCC). Each display is comprised of two (2) individual screens (one that faces East, once that faces West). Each display requires, and is driven by, a Raspberry Pi computer. In total administering twelve (12) Raspberry Pis at the RCC.

To illustrate the point, please reference the YoDeck admin screen currently in use.

Each line represents a player. Example, under “Name”, 5FLR1-C1E reflects the naming convention we use for the individual Raspberry Pi computers. 5FLR1 means the YoDecks located at the current shuttle company facility at the Airport.

C1E means that this Raspberry Pi drives the display at STOP C at the RCC, 1 is DISPLAY #1, and the E is the orientation of the display (in this case, facing East).

So, C2W means STOP C, DISPLAY #2, which faces West.

Other columns, show “Status”, which indicates other players are online.

Player Type has the Raspberry Pi logo.

ID is assigned by Yodeck assigns to each computer on their service.

Scheduled Content does not apply here.

Default Content indicates the particular playlist of screens running on that device.

And, lastly, “Workspace” references the installation at the Airport.

NOTE: on the screencapture, 10 of 12 of the Raspberry Pi machines are shown. There is a 2nd page that shows the last two players in the Airports installation.
