About this file
This document is the General Regulations for the International Recognised Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade Serbia, scheduled to open on May 15, 2027, and close on August 15, 2027. The exhibition will be held on approximately 113 hectares on the outskirts of Belgrade, approximately 13.5 kilometers from the city center and 5 kilometers from Belgrade Airport Nikola Tesla. The theme is "Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All," exploring play as a method of exploration, discovery, and observation and examining how it shapes personal growth and influences broader social and cultural landscapes. The exhibition was recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) at its 175th session on November 26, 2024, in accordance with the Paris Convention on International Exhibitions.
The Government of the Republic of Serbia is responsible for the exhibition through a Coordination Team chaired by the Minister of Finance, with a Commissioner appointed to represent the government and ensure compliance with BIE requirements and participant commitments. Exhibition organization and management is delegated to "EXPO 2027" d.o.o. Belgrade (the Organiser). Official participants include governments of participating countries and international organizations, each represented by a Section Commissioner who signs a Participation Contract with the Organiser and Commissioner. No rent is charged for spaces allocated to official participants, though participants pay for general services including electricity, telecommunications, water, and waste removal at rates conforming to Belgrade local rates. Exhibition spaces will be handed over December 1, 2026, with exhibit placement authorized from March 1, 2027, and final installation required by May 5, 2027. Commercial activities in national sections are limited to 20 percent of total covered exhibition space, and official participants may operate restaurants serving national food and sell limited products representative of their country. The Organiser will collect a 2 percent royalty on gross ticket sales for the BIE. Special Regulations addressing theme implementation, participation conditions, construction and fire protection rules, equipment installation, accommodations, customs procedures, insurance requirements, general services, intellectual property protection, admissions policies, and awards will be submitted to the BIE for approval at specified deadlines prior to the exhibition opening.
