About this file
This document is a technical specification and photographic documentation of an HVAC split-unit air conditioning system installed in a 1st Floor Conference Room.
The primary equipment specified is a Coleman split-unit air conditioning system, model GSC130431AR, with a cooling capacity of 3.5 tons (42,000 BTUs). The document explains the manufacturer's naming convention, where the model number digits "042" correspond to 42,000 BTUs of nominal cooling capacity, which converts to exactly 3.5 tons when divided by 12,000 BTUs per ton. A Goodman Manufacturing Company nameplate is also visible in the photographic documentation, indicating the presence of additional HVAC equipment from this manufacturer at the facility. The system includes a condensing unit (outdoor component), indoor evaporative unit, refrigerant lines with service ports, electrical disconnect switch, and a programmable thermostat (Robertshaw brand) for temperature control set to 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility floor plan indicates the conference room location with the unit marked in orange overlay. Additional photographs show the outdoor condensing unit placement on a brick pad exterior to the building, the indoor wall-mounted thermostat interface, electrical service components, and the interior conference room with multiple seating arrangements. The system is configured for residential HVAC standards, typical of a 13-SEER efficiency model, and appears to be actively maintained operational equipment.

1st Floor Conference Room Split Unit
Coleman split unit GSC130431AR AC 3.5-ton unit.
The model number GSC130431AR corresponds to a older Coleman split-system air conditioning condensing unit (typically a 13-SEER model)
In residential HVAC naming conventions, manufacturers embed the unit's capacity (measured in
British Thermal Units, or BTUs) directly into the model number. For this Coleman system
(GSC130421AR), the key digits are 042.
• 042 stands for 42,000 BTUs of nominal cooling capacity.
• Since there are 12,000 BTUs in one ton of cooling capacity, you divide the BTUs by 12,000
(\(42,000 \div 12,000\))
This equals exactly 3.5 tons
