HAZMAT Material Selection 02 26 00
Page 12 last paragraph , 1
In the statement of findings 3 sentence 'inclusive' is used. Should that be 'inconclusive'?
Yes: "inclusive" is a typo, and should read "inconclusive". As discussed on page 14 of 02 26 00, because the ceiling tile mastic is attached to gypsum wall board with asbestos-containing joint compound, any disturbance of the ceiling tile mastic would need to be conducted as Class II asbestos work, the same as any other disturbance of the asbestos-containing joint compound. Additional testing by the contractor could be used to segregate and minimize the volume of asbestos-containing wastes for the project.

Page 16 Soil Contamination
EHS speaks to no investigation of soils occurred by them. Is there a soils report available for the contractor to review concerning contaminants?
There is no evidence to indicate that hazardous substance activity took place on the property during or prior to federal ownership, so no investigation for soil contamination has occured.

M2.03, M2.04, M4.04
Fintube piping/ flow control
The details shown on sheet M4.04 show the fintube piping installed with an automatic flow control valve for a set of 4 fintubes with each fintube equipped with a manual balance valve. On sheets M2.03/M2.04 the fintubes are called out with only one GPM value.
Can you clarify design intent of having both automatic flow control valves and manual balance valves and how that effects the listed GPM for each heating unit?
The GPM listed on the floor plans (M2.03, M2.04) is the total flow for any particular group of fintube. The balance valves shown in the details are to be used to equalize the flow in the top and bottom rows of the fintube. For example, on M2.03, Conference 111 / Storage 110 / Storage 112 has 6 segments of fintube, each at 2.5 feet long. Total flow is 1.0 GPM (as listed in one of the tags). A total of 1 GPM will flow thru all 6 segments of fintube. Per detail 2/M4.04, note 1, connect the 6 segments in series, with each row of fins (top, bottom) receiving 0.5 GPM.
17 PDO Spec 25 90 00 3.06 is the sequence of operations for the Mechanical Room Ventilation Ssytrem SCF-1. However there is no mention of this system anywhere in the plans or scheudles. Please verify if this system is part of the project. If it is please provide a schedule and/or control diagrams for it.
The SCF-1 system has been removed from the project.
Ignore this sequence.

18 PDO Spec 25 30 00 - 5 spec states that airflow measuring stations shall communicate to the BAS via LONworks protocol. However, 25 40 00 - 5 states that other communication protocols are acceptable including BACnet.
All other communication protoccols for devices in this project are BACnet. We are going to assume BACnet communication will be acceptable for the AFMS. Please specify if this is not acceptable. This is correct. Use BACnet, not LonWorks.
19 PDO Spec 25 90 00 - 6
Per Spec, the radiant panel valves are to be wired back to the VAV controller and controlled from the VAV controller and VAV room Temperature sensor. But per diagrams on M4.04 the radiant panel control valvea are controlled by a t'stat. Please confirm how the finned tube baseboard heaters are to be controlled.
There are no radiant panels on this project. We assume the question was meant to ask about fintube and VAV controllers. Where perimeter fintube is in one or more rooms associated with a VAV box, as described in the sequence, it shall be controlled by the VAV controller. In the cases where fintube is in a room without VAV, such as Corr 122 / Gun Safe 123, it shall be controlled by the T-stat shown. Fintube FT-3 in Reception 102 shall be controlled by the T-stat shown.
20 PDO Spec 25 90 00 - 12
Per M4.05, CUH are to have 3way control valves. Per 25 90 00 - 12 they are to have 2way control valves. Please verify what type of valve CUH are to have.
Provide 3-way control valves for the 4 CUHs. These are needed for the minimum flow on the circulation pumps.
21 PDO Spec 25 50 00 - 5
