About this file
This document is a scope of work addendum issued by Clark Construction Company for a multi-phase school renovation project in Michigan involving Whitehall Middle School, Shoreline Elementary, and Ealy Elementary. The scope details multiple bid categories including selective demolition (02A), concrete work (03A), structural and miscellaneous steel (05A), rough and finish carpentry and general trades (06A), roofing (07A), entrances and storefronts with windows and glazing (08A), and metal studs, gypsum board, acoustical ceilings, and EIFS work (09A). Each bid category comprehensively itemizes labor, materials, equipment, and coordination requirements across the three school sites. The document specifies that contractors must provide Clark Trade Contract Conditions with bid submissions, coordinate extensively with other trades, and comply with all drawings and specifications. Site-specific work includes cafeteria renovations, boiler room equipment removal and replacement, exterior improvements at Shoreline Elementary, roof replacements at multiple locations, and interior renovations affecting occupied school spaces. The project requires phased work minimizing disruption to school operations, with coordination meetings mandated before demolition and ongoing throughout construction.
Pricing structures include allowances for specific work items, unit pricing options for additional work beyond contract documents, and multiple alternate pricing scenarios to accommodate design variations and cost optimization. Notable allowances specified include $2,500 for lead exposure assessments under demolition and carpentry categories, $15,000 for damaged concrete sidewalk replacement, and provision for general labor allowance of 160 hours monthly for carpentry work. Unit pricing is required for interior concrete slab-on-grade removal and replacement, additional interior slab sawcutting and removal, replacement of removed wood fascia boards, and roofing work. Clark Alternates and project-specific alternates are included for tunnel infill, temporary structural modifications for MEP equipment removal at Ealy Elementary, temporary window assemblies for boiler room access, and aluminum door replacements. The scope emphasizes safety compliance with MIOSHA and OSHA requirements, environmental protection including asbestos and lead-safe work practices, and comprehensive warranties on completed systems. No explicit set-asides are identified in this bid category documentation.
