UNSPSC 24102000: Shelving and storage

UNSPSC 24102000 Shelving and storage is a Class code that encompasses moving, packing, transportation, and climate-controlled storage services for library collections during renovation or relocation projects, as well as the purchase of plastic storage bins for organizational and inventory management. State and local governments soliciting under this code include county library systems and county administrative offices seeking both specialized relocation services for large collections and commodity storage containers for departmental use.

Recent activity centers on two distinct work types: Cecil County Public Library in Maryland issued an IFB in July 2026 for packing, storage, and reshelving services covering approximately 50,000 items (books, audiobooks, and DVDs) with up to 18 months of climate-controlled storage during the Elkton Branch renovation, with bids due August 3, 2026 and contract commencement September 8, 2026; and Gwinnett County Financial Services Purchasing Division in Georgia issued an informal written quotation (IWQ) in June 2026 for 800 ULINE Magnum Hopper Bins and 200 ULINE Stackable Bins with integrated label holders, delivery required by July 10, 2026. A third posting—Sourcewell RFP 061626 for Law Enforcement Equipment—appears to be misclassified under this code and does not reflect actual shelving or storage procurement activity. The code shows modest recent activity concentrated in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, with library systems and county administrative offices as the primary issuing bodies.
