About this opportunity

Redmond School District 02J in Oregon has issued a Request for Proposals seeking a qualified insurance agent to serve as Agent of Record for comprehensive property and casualty insurance coverage, including worker compensation, crime, auto, liability, cyber coverage, and underground storage tank pollution liability insurance. The selected agent must possess current Oregon licensure, authorization to work with PACE and SAIF insurance providers, and demonstrated experience servicing public sector accounts of comparable size and complexity, with proposed brokers holding a minimum of five years' experience in the public sector. Deliverables include a detailed service delivery plan addressing routine and emergent consultation, risk analysis, claims settlement assistance, loss control, and regulatory updates, along with proof of agency profile, key personnel qualifications, proposed fee structures including travel charges, and a minimum of three client references from Oregon school districts of similar scale and complexity. The District will evaluate proposals based on agency and assigned staff qualifications, ability to meet scope of work, fees and cost effectiveness, interview performance if necessary, and reference checks. Critical deadlines include questions due by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, final addenda issued by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, proposals due by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, committee review scheduled for the week of February 23, 2026, finalist interviews tentatively set for March 12, 2026, and Notice of Intent to Award expected no later than the week of March 16, 2026, with policy renewals commencing July 1, 2026.

The District currently utilizes multiple insurance providers including PACE for property and casualty coverage, crime, auto, and liability; Bridge Specialty for cyber coverage; SAIF for worker compensation; and Crum and Foster for underground storage tank pollution liability coverage. The selected Agent of Record will commence services in July 2026 for a minimum initial term of three years with an option to extend for two additional one-year terms at the District's discretion. All proposals must be submitted electronically as PDF files to Jeff Hawthorne, Risk Manager, at jeff.hawthorne@redmondschools.org, and all proposals are firm for thirty days after the closing date and become property of the District upon submission. Proposers may withdraw proposals within thirty days of the RFP closing date but cannot resubmit after the deadline. The RFP notice does not specify particular set-asides for small, minority-owned, or disadvantaged businesses, though such provisions may be applicable under Oregon state requirements. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the available documentation.
