Invitation for Bid (IFB) W912PQ-11-B-0002 - Squadron Operations

Building #369

Pre-Bid Questions & Answers (6):

64. Can you tell us how old the existing electrical transformer is? The age of the transformer will help determine whether or not it may carry PCB’s.

Answer: The existing transformer is a brand new one installed in 2010. It will have to be replaced under the new project.

65. In lieu of deflection runner and clips may we substitute a slotted deflection top track similar to Marino-Ware slotted slip track?

Answer: HEAD OF WALL DEFLECTION, We see no issue with substituting this slotted deflection channel as long as it is properly fire-stopped (slots allow air movement) and/or sound-proofed as required at certain partition types.

66. Detail 4-A503 indicates to ”provide and install ceiling bracing per manufacture for seismic category B” Detail 8-A503 indicates attachment clips and stabilizer bars at perimeter.

Armstrong and the IBC says related to Category B, “ceiling installation should conform to basic minimums established in ASTM C636

Answer: ACOUSTIC CEILING INSTALLATION, ASTM C636 should be followed for seismic zone 'B' and thus no extra bracing is required.
