QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (2)
Questions and Answers – Amendment 0003
39. Question: Is damage allowed to the left rim concrete platform during blasting and excavation? Does the platform need to be resurfaced after stabilization efforts are completed?
Answer: Yes, damage to the platform is allowed. See Specification Section 31 00 00 Paragraph 3.4 for final platform surface requirements.
40. Question: Is the concrete platform surface at the left rim to be removed and if so, can it be buried in the saddle dam fill area or must it be disposed?
Answer: There is no requirement for removal of the concrete platform at the left rim. There are no left rim platform resurfacing requirements; however, the original platform surface must be passable by maintenance vehicles per Section 31 00 00, Para. 3.4. Demolished concrete debris from the platform and any other areas cannot be placed in the saddle dam backfill but may be placed in disposal sites per Section 01 57 20, Para. 3.6.2.c.
41. Question: Where are disposal sites for saddle dam excavated material and can excavated rock be disposed below the RCC Berm area on State Park land?
Answer: Disposal must be placed in the left rim designated disposal site or hauled to an approved offsite disposal area. No disposal may be placed on State Park land.
42. Question: Please review all disposal areas.
Answer: Disposal Area is identified on drawing Q4‐RCC‐G‐02. Specification section 31 00 00 Paragraph 3.1 covers on‐site and off‐site disposal.
43. Question: Is the disposal area provided sufficient to hold all excess excavated material?
Answer: Yes, the capacity of the left rim disposal area is estimated to be large enough to receive all of the excess material that is not required for the engineered fill to be used at the RCC berm, as revised, in amendment 0003, Paragraphs I.A and II.A.
44. Question: Total quantities on the left rim? (Provide excavation and disposal quantities on the project?)
Answer: Quantities are provided in the bid schedule and specification section, as revised, in amendment 0003, Paragraphs I.A and II.A.
45. Question: Is there an on‐site disposal area for the material?
Answer: Yes, there is a disposal area that has been identified.
46. Question: Job long or short for waste material? (Is there adequate disposal area for the planned excavation?)
Answer: See answer to question 43 issued in Amendment 0003.
47. Question: Is there a difference between the original Solicitation 1, Amendment 1, and Amendment 2 attachments and the attachments uploaded onto www.fbo.gov on 2 November under Solicitation 2?
Answer: No. The original postings for the solicitation, Amendment 0001, and Amendment 0002 were done using the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) site. This site was shutdown on 1 November;
therefore, the links to these attachments no longer work. To allow these documents to still be accessible, Solicitation 2 was used to upload all of the attachments to date directly to www.fbo.gov.
48. Question: Please consider a bid extension until after the holidays (January 6th, 2016) which would allow the 120 days for Government acceptance to by May 5th, 2016.
Answer: Proposal due date shall remain 2 December 2015 at 2:00pm local time as stated in Block 13 of Standard Form 1442 (SF 1442).
