1. Sheet E604 shows schematic drawing for control panel. Can't find in specs. Who is to furnish and provide panel and control wiring for this item?
A: Specifications for controls are in section 083613 and are to be provided by door manufacturer. Control wiring shall be provided by door manufacturer and power wiring by electrical contractor.
2. Push button shown on sheet E 5-02 appears to be same as above. Furnished by? No dimensions for panel shown. If furnished by door supplier we need more info from them regarding control components furnished under their division. There seems to be some info. missing regarding controllers for doors. sizes, specifications etc. See sheet E130 that shows symbol for combo starter but no size, fuse size etc. These units should also be reversing type for proper door operation. Are these starters part of door package, this is usually the case. Please clarify.
A: Master control panel, stop and go lights, open/stop/close push button control, safety features, and starters to be provided by door manufacturer. See specifications section 339673 for door manufacturer requirements. Any additional electrical work not required by door manufacturer shall be provided by electrical contractor.
3. Sheet E-601 shows 2 new communication manholes and 2 existing. Sheet E-100 shows 2 existing manholes and 1 new manhole. Which drawing is correct?.
A: Sheet E-100 is correct. There is only one new manhole. Sheet E-601 should only show one new manhole.
4. Sheet E6-03 detail 4 specifies conduit system only for CCTV system. Is this correct?
A: This is correct.
5. Sheets E-602 and E6-03. There are several differences as far as the amount of devices shown on sheets, some are missing on Sheet E6-03 but shown on riser diagram Sheet E6-02. Also it appears that system requires complete conduit system per plan note on Sheet E6-02. Is this correct? We normally install conduit stub only with Plenum rated cable system.
A: Drawing E-602 is the fire alarm and MNS riser. Drawing E-603 contains riser diagrams for the CATV, CCTV, Security, Intercom, and Telephone Data. The two drawings are not related in any way. The riser diagrams typically show intent of the system and the actual devices required are indicated on the respective floor plans. The riser diagrams are not intended to be used for device count.
MSN and Fire Alarm systems are considered “Life Safety” systems per UFC 4-021-01, and as such all fire alarm and MNS wiring will be installed in conduit as specified and noted on the drawings.
