Addendum 0009
Ammunitions Supply Point (ASP) Facility
Camp Williams, Utah
RFIs
1. Is the "Mass PA System" part of the electrical scope of work. If so, do you know who is in charge of that or can you give us contact information of someone we can talk to regarding that?
Answer: Yes, please see specification section 16770 for the information on the Mass notification and PA Systems.
2. In reference to proposed suppliers offering proposals for the Booster Pump Stations:
Answer: Suppliers capable of meeting or exceeding the requirements of the specification will be evaluated equally.
3. Propex was the manufacturer of the LANDLOK-TRM-1060 turf reinforcement mat specified in section 02270-4, Soil erosion and sediment control. Manufacturing of LANDLOK-TRM-1060 turf reinforcement mat was discontinued approximately four years ago. We would like to submit a functional equivalent to replace it. The replacement product meets/exceeds hydraulic performance values (shear stress and velocity) but not necessarily the physical properties (the mass and thickness of the mat). Since turf reinforcement mats are specified according to hydraulic requirements of the channel or slope, will this suffice or should we submit to the civil engineer before the bid date?
Answer: We suspect this will suffice, but please submit a request for variance after award and it will be evaluated at that time.
4.
Wanted to confirm Fence Specifications measurements:
Line Posts – 2-7/8
Terminal Posts – 4-1/2
Brace & Rails – 1-5/8
And is it all supposed to be schedule 80 pipe?
Answer: All dimensions referenced are correct measured as “out-Side Diameter (in.)”. All pipe “Schedule 80”.
5.
We have assumed there is no rebar reinforcement in concrete encased ductbanks. Is this correct?
Answer: Please refer to detail 3/00E501 for ductbank construction requirements 6.
We have assumed there is no ground wire run within the concrete encased ductbanks. Is this correct?
Answer: Please refer to detail 3/00E501 for ductbank construction requirements 7.
There is a conflict with the roof collateral loading on the “Structural Notes” plan page 00S001, under “Pre-engineered Metal Buildings”, item #6 (“Design Loads”) verses the revised structural foundation plans for each building. Also a question concerning the “FM I Global” requirement
Answer: Roof collateral loads shown on the foundation plans sheets should be followed. The note on the general note sheet should be changed to see the plan sheets for the collateral load to design to.
The site structure resonance factor is the “R” value or Response Modification coefficient as noted in Table 12.2-1 in ASCE 7-05.
As this is a federal project, please remove any reference to FM Global from this specification.
8.
On page 01A4-1 detail 1, note #1 & #2 say Lockers & Benches to be Option #1. I do not see this on the Bid Schedule. Is this an option or a Base bid item?
Answer: These should be Base bid items.
9.
Please confirm the style of paper towel dispenser required for section 10802 Toilet and Bath accessories. The American Specialties P/N 0469 is a single unit containing a towel dispenser and a trash disposal.
Answer: The spec. sheet lists TA-6 semi-recessed combo paper towel dispenser/disposal showing American Specialties P/N 0469 as well as a TA-7 surface mounted combo paper towel dispense/disposal. The drawings also show TA-6 & TA-7 are required.
There should only be one unit in each toilet. The Admin Building should have the recessed unit (TA-6) and the SIRE Building should have the surface mounted unit
(TA-7).
10.
How high is the chain link fence supposed to be and how many gates are required.
Answer: The drawings (00C503) indicate the height of the fence (original set of drawings) and the site plans indicate the location of gates.
Added information:
Security
Security at the ASP is provided by several different methods. The entire ASP is enclosed within an 8-foot high, chain link fence with a 1-foot anti-climb top. A Chain link sliding gate will provide access to the ASP. Fire barrier strips will be required for 50 foot inside and outside the fence. The gate will be a remotely operated electrically from inside the Administration Building.
