Addendum 0006

Ammunitions Supply Point (ASP) Facility

Camp Williams, Utah

RFIs to include answers are included in this document:

1. How many additional load break boxes will be added from the power source to the site?

Answer: Don’t understand the question. The primary will be tapped from an existing overhead per the plans.

2. Will there be an easement to use a portion of the roadway for comm. and electrical trenching when crossing washes & ravines?

Answer: This is federal property. An easement is not required

3. Are there additional electrical drawings that show specific locations and distances for water pump and generator site?

Answer: See Addendum 3

4. Are there additional electrical drawings that show specific locations and distances for comm. leaving the site and returning to camp Willams?

Answer: See Addendum 3

5. Is there specific information concerning the lighting and lightening protection pole classes?

Answer: See Previous RFI Responses

6. Please clarify the compaction requirements of the soil above the ECM Buildings.

Answer: Please see addendum 3 for additional information and a link to USACE designed ECM’s.

7. Please provide the allowable live load weight for the ECM Buildings. This will assist in determining the appropriate equipment for the backfill and coverage of the ECM Building.

Answer: Please see addendum 3 for additional information and a link to USACE designed ECM’s.

8. Is the Impervious material for backfill of the ECM buildings available on-site or will Import be required.

Answer: Please see addendum 3 for additional information and a link to USACE designed ECM’s. Further, the geotechnical investigation has been provided in a previous RFI response

9. The specs Section 02222-4 3.5 A. indicate 4"of granular material under the building slab. Sheet 0S5101 indicates 6" gravel (capillary water barrier). Do the ECM Buildings have different requirements, or which is correct?

Answer: Drawing 05S01 notes 6” capillary water barrier under section of ECM.

10. The Elevation on the left side of plan page 05S104 indicates “damp proof (waterproof) entire surface of exterior walls” of the earth covered magazine. The materials and costs associated with “damp proofing” are significantly different from “waterproofing”. Please clarify.

Answer: See addendum 3 for additional information on specification of USACE designed ECM’s

11. Please clarify any building specs for the (Section 11304 – Pre-Engineered Booster Pumping Station) – including any freeze prevention requirements (building insulation, or heat trace on the water lines, etc.), acceptable building materials (wood shed type structure, painted?– or metal building, galvanized? etc.) Also, please provide any size/thickness requirements for the concrete building foundation for this pump station.

Answer: See Addendum 3

12. Please provide requirements for the concrete footing/foundation/slab for the new water tanks.

Answer: See addendum 3

13. The drawing 00C502 detail 4 shows the curb being integral with the slab. Is it possible to slip pour a separate curb in lieu of the integral curb to help with schedule?

Answer: Please install per the plans

14. Drawing 00C103 at gridlines “2.5” and “C” a “fire pump house” is called out. Please provide details.

Answer: The fire pump house is no longer in the documents. The pump station in addendum 3 will be used to provide all fire flows on site.

15. The documents reference the soils report. On the drawing are the “Log of Boreholes” can the remainder of this report be published?

Answer: See previous RFI for copy of geotech investigation

16. In the spec it states that the native (excluding clay) soils are okay for structural fill in excavation is all native soil acceptable for earthwork to balance the site?

Answer: See geotech investigation

17. In regards to Special Inspections there is some confusion. On drawing 00S001 it states that special structural inspections shall be by the contractor. Some of the spec sections the testing by the government (most say if a passing test), examples of this:

a. Trenching 02221-5

b. Excavation 02222-1

c. Concrete Pavement 02502-6

d. Reinforcing Steel 03200-1

e. Masonry Mortar 04110-1

Please clarify.

Answer: For those individual sections, the government will provide quality assurance inspections. The contractor is still responsible for all quality control inspections and special inspections.

18. What is the Specification for the "Gravel Shoulder" material 8' wide on all roadways?

Answer: Replace both UDOT Spec. Sections referenced in Concrete Pavement Spec 02502

"UDOT Section 02721 - UNTREATED BASE COURSE (UTBC)(2008 edition)"
