Addendum 0008 Ammunitions Supply Point (ASP) Facility

Camp Williams, Utah

RFIs

1. Could the A-E supply a foundation detail for the two tanks? Typically we build a grade beam at the perimeter of the tank 12” x 36”, fill under tank with engineered compacted fill covered with 6” to 8” of sand (oil added).

Answer: Because the tank foundations are specific to the tank supplier requirements, the specification 13213 requires the contractor to provide the foundation design.

2. The three Welded Storage Tank manufacturers were contacted to bid this project and none of them wanted to submit a bid. Are there other manufacturers that can bid:

Answer: These three manufacturers are suggested. The words “or equal” should have followed them. Any manufacturer capable of meeting the requirements of the specification is acceptable.

3. With regard to drawing 00E503, detail 3/00E503, it is noted that the wood poles are to be sized and classed as noted. I can determine size. But Class is not noted on drawing or in specifications.

Answer: Per a previous RFI response, the classification is:

Wood poles shall be Class 3, Grade C, Douglas Fir or Southern Yellow Pine

4. I need to know the design criteria for the blast doors in section 08315-2 of the specs for Camp Williams Ammo Storage Point. In section 2.1 paragraph B 3, 6, 8 the dynamic overpressure, duration, door edge rotation, fragment weight, and velocity are all blanked out on the specs. Please let me know when you find out the information on these doors.

Answer: Addendum 1 has a new edited version of this specification included.

5. After review of Amendment 7, I am still missing drawing 02E600. Is this part of Amendment 2? If so, I am unable to download off the FBO site. Do you have a tech support contact I can speak with?

Answer: This note actually says to refer to the 02E600 SERIES of drawings for the electrical schedules. There is no 02E600 drawing.

6. Do the contract documents call for special inspection testing? Are we asking the General Contractor to do this?

Answer: Yes we are. For the structural systems, we are requiring special inspection provided by the Contractor.
