Codes with default PID and AMMO types. Vehicle systems should not respond.

3.3.1 Detector Test 2 Procedures – One Word

1. Select the Basic MILES word, PID and ammo code on the Basic Tab (Figure 1). Use the codes in Table 3

2. Click on the “Generate” radio button to load the word into memory.

3. Wait for “Fire Laser” radio button to enable.

4. Click on the “Fire Laser” radio button to transmit the word.

5. Record UUT’s response in Table 3.

6. Reset the Detector UUT if necessary.

7. If sending a Resurrect or Reset code, it is necessary to send the Universal Kill code first.

8. Repeat Steps 1 - 6 until the (Basic) MILES Codes and PID/AMMO codes in Table 3 have been tested and verified.

Note: As these are only one word against a vehicle, they should not have events.

4.0 MCC Laser Test Procedure

The following procedure provides step-by-step instructions for performing Laser Tests using the

MRD Test Set. This initial analysis is to determine if the UUT is able to communicate with the SAT correctly and transmits the proper code.

4.1 Laser Test Setup

1. Set the MRD settings as shown in Figure 3.

2. Setup each SAT UUT with a PID and ammo type.

3. Align each SAT UUT with the MRD test equipment.

4. Attach the remote fire device to the SAT.

Figure 3: Recommended Capture Settings for MRD

4.2 M2 SAT Test Procedures

1. Select the MRD’s “Capture” radio button shown in Figure 4, and immediately dry fire the

SAT UUT in dry fire mode.

Figure 4: Pulse Capture

2. The MRD program will wait for up to 10 seconds (default value) for an optical signal that is above the (default) Threshold of 250mV.

3. Once triggered, the MRD will capture data samples for approximately 4 milliseconds.

4. When the data has been successfully captured, the Pulse Capture Window will respond with

Capture Completed above the “Capture” radio button (Figure 4).

5. Click the “Analyze” radio button to analyze the captured message.

6. When the analysis process is complete the MILES Capture window will appear (Figure 5).

Figure 5: MILES Capture

7. The pulse wave-shape and width (PW) are displayed, along with the timing characteristics associated with that pulse in relation to its nominal timing position as defined by PMT90-

S002M.

8. Select the “Results” button to display a Word Analysis summary of all transmitted MILES words (Figure 6).

Figure 6: Word Analysis

9. Use the All Words dropdown menu to display the MILES word routine that was transmitted.

10. Ensure that the MILES routine received has 4-Code 24 and 128-code 29s.

11. Select the Done button on the Word Analysis and MILES Capture screens. At the main screen of the program, select Save As to save a copy of the results in the appropriate location.

4.3 M240 SAT Test Procedures

Capture Complete (Figure 5).

5. Click the “Analyze” radio button to analyze the captured message.

6. When the analysis process is complete the MILES Capture window will appear (Figure 5).

7. Use the radio buttons at the bottom of the MILES Capture window to examine each pulse in the message stream.

8. The pulse wave-shape and PW are displayed, along with the timing characteristics associated with that pulse in relation to its nominal timing position as defined by PMT90-S002M

1. Select the “Pulse Capture” radio button shown in Figure 4, and immediately dry fire the SAT

UUT in dry fire mode.

9. Select the “Results” radio button to display a Word Analysis of all transmitted MILES words

(Figure 6).

10. Use the All Words dropdown menu to display the MILES word routine that was transmitted.

11. Ensure that the MILES routine received has 4-code 27 and 128-code 29s.

12. Select the Done button on the Word Analysis and MILES Capture screens. At the main screen of the program, select Save As to save a copy of the results in the appropriate location.
