Invert Level | Per pg.P001 note 2, invert elevations established before pipe is installed. Have the existing inverts been recorded and available? | See civil drawings C-201 for proposed sanitary and storm sewer invert elevations within 5-feet of the building exterior.
Absorbers-Hammer Arrestors | No shock absorbers/hammer arrestors are listed in the plumbing fixture schedule on P-601 Please advise. | Refer to General Note #20, P-001 and detail C2/P-501 for water hammer arrestor provision requirements.
Expansion Loop | Note 21 on sheet P-001 instructs to provide a manufactured expansion loop or fabricated expansion loop on systems crossing building expansion joints. No manufactured loops are in the plumbing fixture schedule and no detail showing dimensions for fabricated loops. Please advise. | A manufactured expansion joint or pipe expansion loop is required at each pipe above ground passing through the following (3) column lines: 6/6a, 19/19a, and D (only for the center wing of the building). Additional detail regarding pipes crossing these building expansion joints will be provided in the Conformed Set of drawings.
ADA Lavatories | If ADA lavatories and sinks have skirts would the trap and pipe guards still be required? | Yes; insulation for p-trap and pipe guards are required at all ADA-compliant lavatories and sinks.
Piping and Components | Per Sheet PD102 note 2 to demolish all piping and components in tunnel. Requesting more detail for how many lines, what they serve, point of disconnect, capping or re-using. | Detailed as-built drawings are not available to verify the existing piping systems in the utility tunnels. It is assumed the existing condenser water, existing hot water, and existing domestic water distribution lines route along the utility tunnels to reach each area of the building. The existing condenser water and existing hot water systems are to be demolished and removed in their entirety. The existing domestic water system must be demolished and replaced with a new domestic water service in the Mechanical Room indicated on drawing P-102.
Existing Lines | Per all demo drawings note 2 is not shown in corridors of column line B-C, 2-3, and 12-13. New drawing show new lines installed. Are there existing lines that need to be removed in these corridors? | Detailed as-built drawings are not available to verify the existing piping systems in the utility tunnels. It is assumed the existing condenser water, existing hot water, and existing domestic water distribution lines route along the utility tunnels to reach each area of the building. Any existing appurtenances above grade in the utility tunnels no longer needed or made obsolete by new work must be removed, including the areas referenced in this question.
fixed Permanent Platform | Per Sheet P101 for BFP-3, No detail on elevation of device and code reads that the centerline of device must be between 18"-60" above finished floor. If installed higher than max height, a fixed permanent platform must be installed. Please advise. | The proper detail reference for BFP-3 is shown in detail A4/M-501. No fixed permanent platform is required.
Point of Termination | Pg P101 for BFP-3, discharge piping is not shown and would need point of termination. | Refer to detail A4/M-501 for continuation to Mechanical for make-up water line installations.
Term Point Hub Drain | Per sheet P101, discharge from SP-1 per note 3 shows termination point at a hub drain that has a funnel. No detail showing this hub drain and would suggest a backwater valve immediately downstream of the hub drain | Discharge from SP-1 to funnel and associated hub drain must meet requirements of IPC 2015, Sec. 802.2 including sanitary trap, air gap, and air break. No backwater valve is required in this instance.
Bid Ext Request | Bid due date has been extended from 18 July 2023 at 1:00PM EST to 25 July 2023 at 1:00PM EST. |
Existing Sanitary | Drawing V-101 shows the manhole on the east side ( elevation 601.32 ) as abandoned . Drawing CD-102 details 5 and 6 indicate elimination of sanitary and clean out within ten feet of the building. Is remaining underground sanitary to be abandoned in place? If so, is lateral to be capped and sealed at manhole connection? | See P-102 for all utilities within 5-feet of the building. See C-110 for cleanout connection.
| 19 | Temp Fire Protection | Are there requirement for temporary fire protection with 2-1/2" FHV during construction as recommended NY NFPA13?
