About this file
This file is an industry day presentation for the Foundation Sustainment Support, Software and Integration (FS3i) contract, scheduled for February 2-3, 2026, at Patriot Ridge in Springfield, Virginia. The FS3i is a 7-year follow-on contract to FS2, supporting the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency's (NGA) Mapping, Charting, and Geodesy (MC&G) mission. The effort encompasses software development, engineering support (cloud, architecture, cybersecurity, configuration), and COTS/hardware procurement focused on modernization and automation of Foundation GEOINT production and dissemination environments. The presentation outlines six core scope areas: software development, integration, software maintenance, operations and sustainment, Foundation GEOINT IT procurement, and COTS/common services procurement. Key improvements sought from the current FS2 contract include faster development and deployment of technologies, enhanced artificial intelligence/machine learning integration, increased cost efficiencies, and improved system performance monitoring through dashboards and metrics.
The RFP release schedule indicates a draft RFP release on January 5, 2026, with questions due by January 23, 2026, followed by the industry day on February 2-3, 2026. The final RFP is scheduled for June 2026, with questions due in July 2026 and proposals due in August 2026, targeting a contract award in December 2026. Task orders released with the RFP will address COTS software/common services and Air (aeronautical) capabilities, while potential follow-on task orders include Sea (maritime), Science, Land, and Dissemination functions. The Air task order sustains aeronautical systems including the Aeronautical Application Suite, Aeronautical Obstruction Environment, and related production environments. The COTS/Common Services task order provides procurement support for software licenses and shared IT services, with objectives to deliver approved capabilities within 30 days of verified mission need while maintaining operational compliance with cloud and cybersecurity requirements.
