About this file

This document is a construction specification for infrastructure upgrades at the Edward P. Boland VA Medical Center in Central Western Massachusetts. The project involves renovating and expanding telecommunications rooms across multiple buildings, constructing a new data center, upgrading communications infrastructure including fiber optic cabling and wireless access points, and other site utility work. The general contractor will be responsible for all construction management, coordination of subcontractors, and infrastructure upgrades in accordance with VA requirements. Key project locations and scopes of work are outlined. The specification also defines requirements for the project management team, operations and storage areas, construction security, project phasing and sequencing, alterations to existing structures, as-built documentation, coordination, and warranty management.
