About this file
This specification set outlines requirements for an EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades construction project at the Central Western Massachusetts VA Medical Center. Key details include:
-
The project involves upgrades to infrastructure across multiple buildings to support a new Electronic Health Record Modernization system, including creating a new data center building addition and expanding telecommunications rooms.
-
Scope of work encompasses demolition, hazardous material abatement, site work, utilities replacement and upgrades, building additions and renovations, mechanical, electrical and low-voltage systems work.
-
Performance period is 36 months. The specification requires extensive coordination, including a mock transition of the new data center and telecommunications rooms.
-
The contractor must maintain site security, protect existing structures and utilities, and phase work to avoid disruptions to medical center operations. Utility shutdowns require advanced approval.
-
Submittal requirements include a project management plan, coordination drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, as-built documentation and warranty information. Testing and inspection are also specified.
