About this file
This is a Payment and Performance Bond document related to RFP 26-24-CW, a re-advertisement for the elevation of flood-prone homes in Florida. The project involves the elevation of eleven (11) single-family structures, with respondents permitted to propose bids for any number of structures from one to all eleven that they can complete within the required timeline. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that the selected contractor will fulfill all obligations under the contract and perform the work in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
The Payment and Performance Bond requires the contractor to provide a surety bond guaranteeing both payment to subcontractors and materialmen as well as faithful performance of all work. This bond protects the state and ensures that in the event of contractor default, the surety will cover costs associated with project completion and any unpaid obligations. The bond amount typically equals or exceeds the full contract value to provide adequate coverage for the elevation project scope.
