Amendment 0002, BLDG+P1556+-
1760523+COMBINED:
Reference is made to Sheet C- 003, Key Note #1 regarding the removal of the Aboveground
Storage Tank (AST) near Building 1425. The note specifies that the tank must be properly drained, cleaned, and triple-rinsed to remove all vapors before disposal.
Additionally, the wastewater from the rinsing process must be containerized and disposed of in accordance with proper protocols. However, Sheets C-
002 (note #8 under Utilities) and
CD102 & CD103, Key Notes #8 and #9, respectively, seem to indicate that the utility company is responsible for removing the tank, while the General
Contractor (GC) is only tasked with removing the concrete pad, bollards, and associated piping. Please confirm which party is responsible for the removal of the AST. If the GC is responsible, kindly provide the following details for the tank (including the salvage tank shown on Sheet CD101):
- Size and capacity
- Materials of construction
- Amount of residual fuel remaining
- Location coordinates (to allow for interference checks)
- Estimated schedule for removal
The referenced note #8 on C-002 refers to natural gas tanks and the key notes on sheets CD102 &
CD103 point to natural gas tanks.
Natural gas tanks will be removed by the gas company as called out on
C-002 and CD102 & CD103.
The Contractor is responsible for removal of the AST near building 1425. The information received from the Installation is the following:
1. Tank size and capacity (gallons or volume). 250 gallons
2. Material of construction (e.g., steel, fiberglass, double-wall, etc.).
Double Wall Steel/HDPE Liner/Concrete
3. Approximate amount and type of residual fuel or oil remaining. No record of product being removed from tank, ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel
4. Confirmation of any known contamination, leaks, or prior environmental assessments related to the tank. No additional record beyond attached of compliance report provided.
