Amendment 1 Some of the areas of building 1 are missing from the photos and videos that were provided by the Government. Please provide pictures or videos of the following rooms based on the attachment G2 room numbers: 009, 010, 115, 120B, 122, 123, 138, 139, 134, 135, 136, 213, 214, 215, 216. In the attachment G3, the room 107 is missing. Please let us know if some of these are secure rooms and photos cannot be provided (such as room 009).
No additional photos and videos will be provided. Propose per the provided specs / plans.
Amendment 1 After reviewing the videos, it appears that there have been modifications in certain areas of building 1 between the major renovation in attachment G2 and today. The 1st floor left wing (125, 137, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 147, 154, 155, 156, 157) and right wings (109, 113, 118, 119) have the most changes (offices instead of open areas, MCCS offices). The right wing basement area has been renovated (002, 003, 004, 005, 006) and the 2nd floor (235, 236). Please
All available as-builts have been provided.
provide asbuilts of those renovations?
Page
Part 6 Attachment G1
In reviewing the existing drawings (Part 6 - G1 - PDF page 14) for the Right Wing Basement and West Wing Basement, it appears that the basement slab is also the foundation of the basement (i.e. a mat-type foundation) The Right Wing Basement appears to have internal bearing walls that are supported by this slab. The RFP (Part 3 - 4.B.1.d) requires removal of the slab and 12” of soil and replacement with a gravel layer and new slab. This does not seem possible given that there would then be no support for the interior walls.
Will the government consider an alternate method of treating the reported flooding condition?
Alternative methods of treating the reported flooding condition will be considered.
Part 3 requires demolition of the existing slab in both wings of the basement. Upon review of the as-built drawings, the basement slab in the right wing is a 24" structural mat slab, which supports the building above. There are no spreade or strip footings, the slab itself supports the building.
Removal of this slab will require a significant amount of work to temporarily shore the building, likely requiring micropiles or some other method to maintain the integrity of the structure above while the foundation is not in place.
Please confirm demo of the slab is not explicity required as long as a complete waterproofing system is designed and installed.
Slab demolition is not explicitly required as long as a complete waterproofing system is designed and installed
