About this file
This is an addendum document for Beaufort County, South Carolina's Buckwalter Recreation Athletic Complex Expansion project that delineates the scope of work responsibilities between the General Contractor and Musco Sports Lighting for the installation of sports lighting components at the facility. The addendum specifies that sports lighting will be contracted separately with the County rather than included in the General Contractor's bid price, as shown on the revised Concessions Building Plan Sheet E3.1. The General Contractor is responsible for providing site access using two-wheel drive equipment, locating and marking existing underground utilities and field reference points, providing disposal areas for spoils and dumpsters, and installing the Musco control and monitoring cabinet system including conduit, wiring, and connections up to 10 feet on each light pole. The General Contractor must also commission the Control-Link system by contacting Control-Link Central and maintain communication with the Musco Representative, Brian Hartman (803-904-0302), regarding project coordination and timeline.
Musco Sports Lighting's scope of work encompasses providing the complete lighting design and layout based on photometric scans, supplying all foundations, poles, electrical enclosures, wire harnesses, fixtures, and control cabinets, and managing the installation through their subcontractor. Musco is responsible for obtaining required permits, contacting 811 for public utility locates and confirming marked private utilities with the facility owner, handling equipment offloading and storage, providing security for delivered products, managing waste disposal and daily cleanup, and ensuring installation commences upon delivery without interruption. Additionally, Musco must test and aim all equipment, repair damage to marked utilities, and submit a closeout checklist with required documentation. The document emphasizes coordination between both parties to ensure seamless pole installation and site progress, with the understanding that Musco or its subcontractor will not be responsible for repairs to unmarked utilities.
