Statement of Work for
Joint Advanced Missile Instrumentation (JAMI) Software Development
1.0 INTRODUCTION.
1.1 Purpose. The purpose of this delivery order is to provide software development support to the JAMI Project.
1.2 Background. The JAMI Project has developed a new type of global positioning system
(GPS) Sensor Unit (GSU) that will be used to track and provide scoring for Department of
Defense weapon systems. The GSU is unique, since it is a hybrid and has some characteristics of a Global Positioning System (GPS) translator and some of a GPS receiver and is a one-of-a-kind system. To meet DoD objectives, the JAMI Project requires software development support to test the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) at Tyndall AFB, FL. This support is very specialized due to the uniqueness of the hybrid system.
2.0 SCOPE. The contractor shall develop software to track the GPS sensor installed in the
AMRAAM.
3.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
3.1 Evaluate and modify existing software to allow JAMI technical personnel to track a specially modified AIM-9M missile. This missile launch is in preparation for the AMRAAM launches scheduled in FY06. (CDRL A010)
3.1.1 Support Tyndall AFB personnel in decommutating telemetry data received from the
AMRAAM and AIM-9 and provide updated software to the Government. (CDRL A010)
3.2 Develop software and provide support on the hardware to meet the JAMI Data Processor
(JDP) requirements. This shall require taking state-of-the-art software and modifying it to meet specific JAMI requirements at Tyndall AFB. (CDRL A010)
3.3 Support the development of inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor software and hardware that shall be used to track AMRAAM immediately after launch from the aircraft. (CDRL A010)
3.4 Support the development of IMU sensors that shall be installed in pods to track the shooter and target aircraft at Tyndall AFB. This shall also require JDP software development to allow the tracking of the airborne vehicles. (CDRL A010)
3.5 Develop software to integrate JAMI components into the Range infrastructure at Tyndall
AFB. (CDRL A010)
3.6 Technical Reviews. The contractor shall be required to attend and support three technical reviews at Tyndall.
