WORK ITEMS AND DEFINITIONS: The following is an outline of the items of work and the descriptions of each item to be constructed under this contract for EAFB.

001 SAWCUT NEW OR EXISTING ASPHALT, EXCLUDES JOINT CUTTING/ WIDENING

Laying out cut location and accurately sawing pavement to the limits and depth identified in the

Delivery Order. Cleanup of cutting residue is a part of this item.

003 REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT TO 3" INCHES THICK, HAULING OFF BASE

004 REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT OVER 3" TO 6" THICK, HAULING OFF BASE

005 REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT OVER 6" THICK, HAULING OFF BASE

018 REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT TO 3 INCHES THICK, HAULING OFF BASE

Complete removal of the existing AC pavement to the base aggregate level, within the limits of area identified by the Delivery Order. Also included is loading, hauling and dumping at a location off base.

006 COLD-MILLING OF ASPHALT TO 2" & HAULING OFF BASE

019 COLD-MILLING OF ASPHALT TO 2" & HAULING OFF BASE

Set up and milling of AC pavement to the limits, grades (slopes) and depths identified in the Delivery

Order. This item is for the milling depth of up to 2”. Also included is cleanup, loading, hauling and dumping of the milled material at a location off base.

Removal of pavement markings to the limits identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is the cleaning and disposal of the removed pavement markings.

Complete removal of the existing PCC gutter, curb and gutter, or gutter to the base aggregate level, within the limits of area identified by the Delivery Order. Also included is loading, hauling and dumping at a location approved on the Waste/Borrow Pit Plan.

Complete removal of the existing PCC sidewalk to the base aggregate level, within the limits of area identified by the Delivery Order. Also included is loading, hauling and dumping at a location approved on the Waste/Borrow Pit Plan.

Excavation of soil, aggregate and other earthen materials to the limits and grades identified in the

Delivery Order. Does not include concrete type materials or timber and brush required to be removed before earthen excavation can begin. Also included is all layout and survey work required to excavate to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and hauling to a location approved on the

Waste/Borrow Pit Plan.

Grading and compacting stockpiled soil and/or aggregate to the limits and grades identified in the

Delivery Order. This item does include redistribution of sub grade material as normally performed by a grader to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is the hauling of the material from the project site stockpile.

039 SCARIFY, FINISH, GRADE & COMPACT EXISTING BASE COURSE/SUBGRADE TO

Grading and compacting in situ soil and/or aggregate to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery

Order. This item does include redistribution of base course/ sub grade material as normally performed by a grader to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order.

041 NEW SUBBASE, STRUCTURAL FILL, INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, GRADE &

COMPACT TO 100% DENSITY

048 NEW SUBBASE, STRUCTURAL FILL, INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, GRADE &

COMPACT

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting subbase aggregate material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is the distribution of fill material to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Aggregate material shall be obtained by the

Contractor, off base, unless otherwise authorized by the Contracting Officer.

042 NEW BASE COUSE (HIGH FRACTURE D-1), INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, FINISH,

GRADE & COMPACT TO 100% DENSITY TO 2500 CY

043 NEW BASE COUSE (HIGH FRACTURE D-1), INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, FINISH,

GRADE & COMPACT TO 100% DENSITY OVER 2500 CY

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting high fracture D-1 base aggregate material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order, and maintaining compacted surface clean and ready for paving operations until subsequent operations take place. Also included is the distribution of fill material to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. High fracture D-

1 Aggregate material shall be obtained by the Contractor, off base, unless otherwise authorized by the

Contracting Officer.

049 NEW SUBBASE, RECLAIMED ASPHALT FROM BASE STOCKPILE; INCLUDES

PLACE, GRADE & COMPACT TO 98% DENSITY

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting subbase course reclaimed asphalt material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is the distribution of fill material to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Reclaimed asphalt material shall be obtained by the Contractor from the on base stockpile.

050 NEW BASE COURSE (D-1), INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, FINISH GRADE & COMPACT

TO 100%

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting D-1 base aggregate material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order, and maintaining compacted surface clean and ready for paving operations until subsequent operations take place. Also included is the distribution of fill material to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. D-1 Aggregate material shall be obtained by the Contractor, off base, unless otherwise authorized by the Contracting Officer.

051 NEW BASE COURSE (RECLAIMED ASPHALT) FROM BASE STOCKPILE, PLACE,

FINISH GRADE & COMPACT TO 100%

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting base course reclaimed asphalt material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is the distribution of fill material to meet grades and all layout, survey work and compaction testing required to grade and compact to the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order. Reclaimed asphalt material shall be obtained by the Contractor from the on base stockpile.

052 PULVERIZE ASPHALT AND BASE COURSE IN PLACE TO 6", INCLUDES REGRADE

AND COMPACT TO 100%

Pulverizing the existing AC (Asphalt Concrete) pavement in place by use of a pulverizing machine or other equipment to break up the pavement to the required size limit, grading and compacting in place for use as road base course to the limits identified in the Delivery Order. Also included is clean up of pavement debris lost outside of the compacted base area.

053 NEW SBS MODIFIED ASPHALT INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, GRADE AND

COMPACT TO 2500 TONS

054 NEW SBS MODIFIED ASPHALT INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, GRADE AND

COMPACT OVER 2500 TONS

Placing and compacting new SBS modified asphalt to the required thickness in no more than 2” lifts, grade, smoothness and compaction specified, within the limits identified in the Work Order. Also includes hauling of asphalt material from the asphalt mixing plant, layout, survey work, density testing and core sampling, required to meet the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and as specified for quality control. Also included is distributing asphalt prime coat and/ or tack coat at the proper rate and distribution coverage, to the limits identified in the Delivery Order and preparation of the surface by removing any loose or objectionable materials such as uncompacted aggregate, debris or vegetation spilled on the compacted surface after final grading and compaction of the base. This item also includes clean-up of spills or inaccurate placements onto surfaces outside of the area identified, to eliminate any environmental concerns and correct misplacements that are unsightly or a nuisance and all calibration and test patterns within or outside of the work area required to obtain the specified distribution. Preparation of the base course surface is not a part of this item.

Preparation of the base course surface is not a part of this item.

This includes preparation of PCC for reinforcement or dowels, hauling of material, and placement of material.

060 NEW ASPHALT PAVEMENT, INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE, GRADE AND COMPACT.

Placing and compacting asphalt to the required thickness, grade, smoothness and compaction specified, within the limits identified in the Work Order. Also includes hauling of asphalt material from the asphalt mixing plant, layout, survey work, density testing and core sampling, required to meet the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and as specified for quality control. Also included is distributing asphalt prime coat and/ or tack coat at the proper rate and distribution coverage, to the limits identified in the Delivery Order and preparation of the surface by removing any loose or objectionable materials such as uncompacted aggregate, debris or vegetation spilled on the compacted surface after final grading and compaction of the base. This item also includes clean-up of spills or inaccurate placements onto surfaces outside of the area identified, to eliminate any environmental concerns and correct misplacements that are unsightly or a nuisance and all calibration and test patterns within or outside of the work area required to obtain the specified distribution. Preparation of the base course surface is not a part of this item.

066 INSTALL CURB & GUTTER, CURB ONLY, OR VALLEY GUTTERS, ISOLATED,

LENGTHS UNDER 20 LF

Placing, consolidating, finishing and curing PCC curb, curb and gutter, or gutter to the required configuration, grade, smoothness and finish specified within the limits identified in the Delivery Order.

This item also includes layout, survey work, forming, expansion, contraction and construction joints, field and strength testing, required to meet the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and as specified for quality control. Preparation of the placement surface including minor excavation, grading and compaction such as is associated with installing new curb, curb and gutter, or gutter where old curb, curb and gutter, or gutter has been removed is a part of this item.

068 CONSTRUCT NEW FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE SIDEWALK TO 400SF

069 CONSTRUCT NEW FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE SIDEWALK OVER 400SF

Placing, consolidating, finishing and curing PCC to the required thickness, grade, smoothness and finish specified within the limits identified in the Delivery Order. This item also includes layout, survey work, forming, transverse expansion, contraction and construction joints, field and strength testing required to meet the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and as specified for quality control.

Preparation of the placement surface including minor excavation, grading and compaction such as is associated with installing new sidewalk where old sidewalk has been removed is a part of this item.

070 INSTALL SIDEWALK SCUPPER WITH 4 FT SPILLWAY INCLUDES FORMWORK,

REINFORCEMENT AND GRATE

Placing, consolidating, finishing and curing the PCC sidewalk scupper and spillway including curb and gutter around the scupper This item also includes layout, survey work, forming, expansion, contraction and construction joints, field and strength testing required to meet the limits and grades identified in the sidewalk scupper details and as specified for quality control. Preparation of the placement surface including minor excavation, grading and compaction such as is associated with installing new ramp where old ramp or sidewalk has been removed is a part of this item. Also included is the placement of the reinforcement and grate as identified in the sidewalk scupper details.

071 INSTALL CURB RAMP WITH CAST IN PLACE DETECTABLE WARNING TILE ,

INCLUDING FORMWORK

Placing, consolidating, finishing and curing the PCC handicapped ramp including curb and gutter around the ramp, tapering from the base of the ramp to the full height curb and gutter, to the required thickness, grade, smoothness and finish specified within the limits identified in the sidewalk ramp detail.

This item also includes layout, survey work, forming, expansion, contraction and construction joints, field and strength testing required to meet the limits and grades identified in the Delivery Order and as specified for quality control. Preparation of the placement surface including minor excavation, grading and compaction such as is associated with installing new ramp where old ramp or sidewalk has been removed is a part of this item.

DOW CORNING 890-SL OR EQUIVALENT

Removing foreign material from cracks by blowing with high pressure air, high pressure water and/or mechanical means, drying crack and filling joint with specified sealant.

077 INSTALL TOPSOIL TO 6" DEPTH; INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE AND FINISH GRADE

084 INSTALL TOPSOIL TO 6"" DEPTH; INCLUDES SUPPLY, PLACE AND FINISH GRADE

Obtaining, loading, hauling, dumping, grading and compacting topsoil material to the limits, depths and grades identified in the Delivery Order, and maintaining the surface ready for planting. This item includes scarification of sub grade prior to placing topsoil, and layout and survey work required to grade the topsoil to the limits, thickness and grades identified in the Delivery Order.

078 INSTALL HYDROSEED MIX

085 INSTALL HYDROSEED MIX

Scarifying soil for planting, applying fertilizer, grass seed and cover mix, and maintaining seeded area through the establishment period.

102 INSTALL PETROLEUM RESISTANT SEAL COAT

Preparation of the placement surface by cleaning and sweeping and application to the limits identified in the Delivery Order. This includes cleanup of spills or inaccurate placements onto surfaces outside of the area identified, to eliminate any environmental concerns and correct misplacements that are unsightly or a nuisance. This item also includes all calibration and test placements within or outside of the work area required to obtain the specified distribution.
