About this file
This is an Exhibit B Title Sheet for a municipal construction project submitted by the City of Milpitas, California, detailing the scope of work for the Milpitas Sports Center Scoreboard Replacement project located at 1325 E Calaveras Boulevard. The project encompasses the complete demolition of three existing scoreboards, including removal of above-ground supporting structures, below-ground footings, and electrical disconnection, followed by installation of new scoreboard infrastructure consisting of one large Daktronics Model BA2014 scoreboard and two smaller Daktronics BA624 models. The work includes footing replacement using engineered slurry fill, new supporting structure installation per AKH Structural Engineers plans dated March 15, 2024, and comprehensive electrical work complying with 2022 CBC, 2022 CEC, 2022 CEnC, 2022 CalGreen, and 2023 MMC codes. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 22, 2025, at 10:00 am, with electronic bids due by June 17, 2025, at 12:00 pm Pacific Time. The project has a 75-calendar-day completion timeline from the Notice to Proceed.
Qualified contractors must hold C-45 and C-10 licensing classifications and perform at least 50% of the work directly, with subcontracting permitted up to 50% of total work. Electrical requirements include installation of new NEMA 3R outdoor-rated disconnects, replacement of above-ground conduit and liquid-tight conduit from disconnects, properly sized conductors per CEC Table 310.16 rated for wet service, installation of minimum one new ground rod per CEC standards, and load determination accounting for wind load Cases B and C from ASCE 7-16. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract value are required, and all work is subject to prevailing wage requirements. The City will provide all seven scoreboards and building permits prior to work commencement. A local purchasing preference is available for bidders within 10% of the lowest bid, and contractors must maintain active California Secretary of State registration and City of Milpitas business licenses.
