About this file
The document is an Electrical Plan by Location for the City of Milpitas' Scoreboard Replacement Project, covering three municipal park locations: Dixon Landing Park, Milpitas Sports Center, and Cardoza Park. The project involves installing seven new scoreboards with associated electrical infrastructure, including new electrical disconnects, conduits, ground rods, and Dak Score/MX-1 interface boxes. Each location requires specific installation tasks: Dixon Landing Park needs three scoreboards (BA-624 and BA-2014 models), Milpitas Sports Center requires two major/minor scoreboards and a senior scoreboard, and Cardoza Park needs one scoreboard with additional requirements like a Christy box installation and cable repair.
The project specifications detail precise electrical requirements, including using NEMA 3R (outdoor/rainproof) disconnects sized appropriately for each scoreboard's electrical load, conductors sized per CEC Table 310.16, and conduits sized per CEC Chapter 9 Tables. The electrical load for new scoreboards must be equal to or less than existing boards, and current protection, conduits, and conductors from existing panels can be re-used. The load determination must consider Case B and Case C requirements from ASCE 7-16 Figure 29.3-1, with specific considerations for the 20'-0" W x 8'-6" H scoreboards. The City will provide the scoreboards and building permits, while the contractor is responsible for installation, site evaluation, and performing at least 50% of the work directly.
