About this file
The document is an electrical plan exhibit for the Cardoza Park Scoreboard Replacement Project in Milpitas, California, involving the installation of a new BA2014 scoreboard at Cardoza Field. The City of Milpitas is seeking a qualified contractor to replace 7 scoreboards across 3 city locations, with the city providing the scoreboards and necessary building permits. The project requires complete removal of existing scoreboards, including footings, supporting structures, and electrical connections, and their replacement with new scoreboards. The contractor must perform at least 50% of the work directly, with the option to subcontract up to 50% of the work. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required for contractors to evaluate site access and conditions.
The electrical plan specifies technical requirements for the scoreboard installation, including using a NEMA 3R outdoor disconnect sized appropriately for the electrical load, installing new conduit, a ground rod, and a Christy box, and repairing exposed cable at the scoreboard base. Electrical specifications mandate conductor and conduit sizing per California Electrical Code (CEC) standards, with considerations for load determination including wind load cases from ASCE 7-16 guidelines. The new scoreboard's electrical loads are equal to or less than existing boards, and current over-current protection, conduits, and conductors from the panel will be re-used where possible.
