About this file
This document is a Project Description and Requirements specification for the City of Milpitas Scoreboards Replacement Project, involving the removal and replacement of seven scoreboards across three park/field locations: Dixon Landing, Milpitas Sports Center, and Cardoza Park. The project requires a contractor to remove existing scoreboards, supporting structures, and electrical connections, and install new scoreboards provided by the City, with work to be completed within 75 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. A mandatory pre-bid site walk is required, and bidders must submit a Site Visit Certification. The contractor must possess a C-45 and C-10 Contractor's License and perform at least 50% of the contract work with their own organization.
The City will supply all seven new Daktronics scoreboards (models BA2014 and BA624), top and bottom ID panels, interface boxes, and equipment cages, with the contractor responsible for installation, electrical connections, and commissioning. Pricing will be unit-based, with specific bid items for scoreboard removal, footing and structure installation, scoreboard installation, and electrical connections at each location. The project includes no-fee building permits for each site, and the contractor must coordinate inspections and testing with the City Building Department. Work is limited to typical City staffed hours (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM), with some scheduling flexibility, and the contractor must maintain site safety, protect existing infrastructure, and minimize disruption to public park use.
