About this file
This Scope of Work and Specifications document is for the City of Milpitas' Scoreboard Replacement Project in California, detailing a comprehensive municipal infrastructure upgrade. The project involves removing 7 existing scoreboards and installing 7 new scoreboards across three park/field locations: Dixon Landing, Milpitas Sports Center, and Cardoza, with various scoreboard sizes including 20'x6.5' and 16'x6' Daktronics models. The City will provide the new scoreboards, top and bottom ID panels, and necessary building permits, while the selected contractor will handle complete demolition, electrical work, installation, and commissioning. The contract has a 75-calendar-day completion timeline from the Notice to Proceed, with specific work restrictions at certain locations, such as the Milpitas Sports Center Major/Minor field having work allowed only after July 7, 2025.
The project allows for up to 50% subcontracting, requires the contractor to handle electrical connections, ground rod installations, and coordinate with Daktronics for final commissioning and testing. Electrical work includes replacing disconnects, installing conduits, and ensuring compliance with current Uniform Building and Electrical Codes. The estimated project involves significant electrical infrastructure modifications, with specific requirements for each location including ground rod installations, conduit replacements, and interface box placements. The City will cover Daktronics' commissioning costs, and the contractor must maintain detailed project records, coordinate inspections, and protect existing site infrastructure during the replacement process.
