About this file
This document is a General Notes Supplement from the Volusia County Public Works Department's Road & Bridge Division, detailing the specifications for an Open Channel Debris Removal and Bank Stabilization project related to damages caused by Hurricane Milton. The contract is a lump sum arrangement for comprehensive debris removal and bank stabilization work, with the contractor responsible for estimating all quantities, materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete the project. The contract will be paid on a percentage complete basis, with individual items tracked through the Contractor's Schedule of Values.
The payment terms specify that no separate payments will be made for numerous ancillary activities, including permit applications, utility coordination, field engineering, survey and layout, dewatering, trench excavation, cleanup, testing, and close-out documentation. These costs must be integrated into the overall project pricing. All work must be included in the bid schedule, and any items not specifically listed but required for a complete installation must be furnished and installed by the contractor at no additional cost to Volusia County. The contract emphasizes that all quantities provided are for contractor convenience and are not guaranteed to be complete, placing the responsibility for accurate estimation squarely on the contractor.
