About this file

This document is a General Notes Supplement for a public works contract from Volusia County, Florida, specifically for the Public Works Department's Road & Bridge Division, addressing open channel debris removal and bank stabilization related to damages caused by Hurricane Milton. The contract is a lump sum agreement that requires the contractor to complete all work, including labor, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the project, with payment based on a percentage of completion as estimated by the contractor and approved by the county.

The contract outlines detailed measurement and payment methods, including various units of measurement (linear feet, square yards, cubic yards, etc.) and specifies that no separate payment will be made for several standard project elements such as permits, shop drawings, pre-construction documentation, survey and layout, utility coordination, dewatering, and close-out documentation. All work must be included in the bid schedule, and any items not specifically listed but required for a complete installation must be furnished and installed by the contractor at no additional cost to the owner. The contract emphasizes that all quantities are provided for the contractor's convenience and are not guaranteed to be complete, placing the responsibility on the contractor to estimate and manage project requirements.
