About this file
This is an electrical plan exhibit for the City of Milpitas' Scoreboard Replacement Project at Dixon Landing Park, detailing specifications and installation requirements for three new scoreboards across Dixon Field 1, 2, and 3. The plan outlines comprehensive electrical work including installation of new Daktronics scoreboards (BA-2014 and BA-624 models), electrical disconnects, conduit replacement, and ground rod installations at each location. The electrical panel is located in a utility closet behind the snack shack at Dixon Field 1. Technical specifications require NEMA 3R outdoor/rainproof disconnects sized appropriately for each scoreboard's electrical load, conductors sized per CEC Table 310.16 for wet service conditions, and conduits sized per CEC Chapter 9 Tables 4 & 5. Wind load calculations must consider both Case B (required for all scoreboards) and Case C (required for the BA-2014 20'-0" W x 8'-6" H scoreboard) from ASCE 7-16 Figure 29.3-1. The plan specifies that new electrical loads must equal or be less than existing loads being removed, with existing over current protection and conduit infrastructure to be reused where possible.
Installation requirements for each field location include replacing existing conduit and liquid tight connections from disconnect to scoreboard, installing one new ground rod per location, and for Dixon Field 1, installing a Dak Score/MX-1 interface box into an existing equipment cage. All electrical work must comply with California Electrical Code standards and accommodate wet service conditions appropriate for outdoor sports facility environments. The project is part of a broader municipal effort with a 75-calendar-day completion timeline from Notice to Proceed, mandatory pre-bid conference scheduled for May 22, 2025, and electronic bids due June 17, 2025, at 12:00 pm Pacific Time.

DIXON LANDING PARK
ELECTRICAL PLAN
.Notes:
1. New scoreboards electrical loads are equal to or less than those of the existing boards being removed.
2. Over current protection, conduits and conductors from the panel to the new disconnects are existing to be re-used.
3. New disconnect shall be NEMA 3R (outdoor/rainproof) and shall be sized no smaller than the electrical load of the scoreboard.
4. Conductors shall be sized per CEC Table 310.16 and shall be listed for wet service.
5. Conduits shall be sized per CEC Chapter 9 Tables 4 & 5.
6. The load determination shall also consider Case B and Case C from ASCE 7-16 Figure 29.3-1. Case B required for all scoreboards, and Case C required for the 20’-0” W x 8’-6” H scoreboard (BA-2014).
