About this file
This document is an Engineering Test Matrix (ETM) specification for the L10 spacecraft program, detailing comprehensive testing requirements across multiple hardware categories and subsystems.
The ETM establishes testing protocols organized into four primary categories: Hardware (Structural/Mechanical, EMI/EMC, and Thermal), Mechanisms, Boxes/Components, and Deployable Systems. The matrix specifies test levels using standardized codes including Q (Qualification), PF (Proto-flight), AT (Acceptance), QS (Qualification by Similarity), M (Measured Results), T (Planned Test), LT (Life Test), AN (Analysis), TT (Time and Temperature Bakeout), QCM (Bakeout with QCM), DP (Deployment), HC (Hot/Cold Functional), and PQ (Proto-Qualification). Testing categories encompass structural and mechanical evaluations (mass survey, static load, sine burst, vibration, acoustics, mechanical shock, pressure profile, mechanical function, deployment, torque, life test, and mass properties); electrical assessments (inrush, power quality/profile, RF self-compatibility); and thermal analysis (thermal vacuum cycles, thermal cycles, thermal balance, and bakeout). The specification applies to various hardware tiers including Observatory First Article, SC Bus First Article, Primary Structure First Article, and Modular Propulsion System, with differentiation between First Article and Subsequent configurations. The L10 ETM – Propulsion sheet extends these requirements specifically to propulsion subsystems with detailed test specifications for engines, tanks, filters, valves, regulators, transducers, and related components, color-coded by test category to facilitate identification of requirements across the development and qualification phases.
