Seismic and Wind Requirements

Seismic Requirements, IBC-21 Section 1704.3

Description of seismic-force-resisting system and designated seismic systems subject to special inspections:

The seismic force resisting system of buildings 2 & 3 consists of unreinforced stacked stone walls, whose lateral capacity has been justified through structural analysis. The remainder of the buildings have wood shear walls with wood framing members, wood sheathing, nails and holdowns into the foundation system to resist seismic lateral forces. All buildings have flexible wood diaphragms at the roof and all floor levels. The wood shear walls will require special inspections for wall anchorage, anchors for holdowns and some sheathing attachments to shear wall framing members.

Wind Requirements, IBC-21 Section 1704.3

Description of wind-force-resisting system and designated wind systems subject to special inspections:

The wind force resisting system will consist of the same elements as the seismic force resisting system.
