About this file
This solicitation is for maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor's Arthur Kill 50' Reach Federal Navigation Project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to remove approximately 125,000 cubic yards of selected shoals to a depth of -50 feet MLLW plus one foot allowable overdepth using a mechanical dredge with an environmental clamshell bucket. Multiple barges and tugboats will be needed for dredging, dewatering, and unloading operations. The dredged material must meet all federal, state, and local placement criteria and the contractor must provide all necessary permits for transportation, transfer, dewatering, processing, and final placement. The apparent low bidder must submit all required permits within 35 days of notification. Work is estimated to cost between $10,000,000 to $25,000,000 and must commence within five days of notice to proceed with a production rate of at least 2,500 cubic yards per day to minimize channel impacts. Liquidated damages of $2,540 per day will be assessed for delays. The solicitation will be awarded in June/July 2023 with work anticipated from August to October 2023.
