About this file

This is a construction agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the City of Fort Myers for the John Yarbrough Linear Park (JYLP) Trail Construction project. The project encompasses construction services for Phase IV Extension Shared Use Path and Bridge Improvements extending approximately 1.83 miles from south of SR 884/Colonial Boulevard to Hanson Street. The scope of work includes construction of a 912-foot multi-span prestressed concrete bridge over SR 886/Colonial Boulevard and a 139-foot prefabricated steel bridge structure over the 10-mile canal. This project is funded through the Florida Shared-Use Nonmotorized Trail Network under the Department's FY-24/25 work program.

The project is being delivered as a rebid, indicating this is a re-solicitation of the original John Yarbrough Linear Park Trail Construction opportunity (Sun Trail 447515-1-54-01). The agreement establishes the contractual framework between FDOT and the City of Fort Myers as the local government entity responsible for project administration and delivery. Specific pricing terms, contract duration, performance schedules, and other detailed contractual provisions are outlined within the agreement documentation. The project represents a significant infrastructure investment in the regional trail network, combining pedestrian and bicycle path amenities with engineered bridge structures to facilitate non-motorized transportation connectivity.
