SECTION 123661 - SIMULATED STONE COUNTERTOPS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Section Includes:
1. Quartz agglomerate countertops and backsplashes.
2. Countertop support brackets.
1.2 ACTION SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For countertop materials.
B. Green Globe Submittals:
1. Product Data for Criteria 3.7.2.1.1: For adhesives and composite wood products, documentation indicating that product contains no urea formaldehyde.
2. Laboratory Test Reports: For adhesives and sealants, documentation indicating that products comply with the testing and product requirements of the California Department of Health Services' "Standard Practice for the Testing of Volatile Organic Emissions from Various Sources Using Small-Scale Environmental Chambers."
C. Shop Drawings: For countertops. Show materials, finishes, edge and backsplash profiles, methods of joining, and cutouts for plumbing fixtures.
D. Samples: For each type of material exposed to view.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 QUARTZ AGGLOMERATE COUNTERTOPS
A. Configuration: Provide countertops with the following front and backsplash style:
1. Front: Straight, slightly eased at top.
2. Backsplash: Straight, slightly eased at top outside corner.
3. Apron (three sides): Straight, slightly eased at edges.
B. Countertops: 3/4-inch-thick with front edge built up with same material.
C. Backsplashes: 3/4-inch-thick, quartz agglomerate.
2.2 COUNTERTOP MATERIALS
A. Plywood: Exterior softwood plywood complying with DOC PS 1, Grade C-C Plugged, touch sanded.

B. Quartz Agglomerate: Solid sheets consisting of quartz aggregates bound together with a matrix of filled plastic resin and complying with the "Physical Characteristics of Materials" Article of
ANSI SS1.
1. LG Hausys, Viatera Quartz Surface.
2. Color: Natural Limestone.
2.3 ACCESSORIES
A. Countertop Support Bracket: Hafele Hebgo Bracket
1. Finish Black, 287.44.434 (11” bracket) to Restrooms 214 and 215 countertops. Provide three (3) brackets per countertop; do not exceed a maximum span between bracket supports of 36-inches on center.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Fasten countertops by screwing through corner blocks of base units into underside of countertop. Align adjacent surfaces and, using adhesive in color to match countertop, form seams to comply with manufacturer's written instructions. Carefully dress joints smooth, remove surface scratches, and clean entire surface.
