DISCONTINUATION OF
REFERENCE CAPTURE PROCEDURE
IN PaDaCap CONTRACTOR’S PROCESSING OF POST-ALLOWANCE INFORMATION DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS
***This bulletin is effective immediately.***
As part of the PaDaCap contractor’s processing of post-allowance information disclosure statements, there was a requirement by which the PaDaCap contractor used the Office Action Correspondence Subsystem (OACS) to capture U.S. references so that those references could be available electronically for the examiner to review. (Foreign references and references to non-patent literature were not captured, and there was no requirement for the capture of references from electronic information disclosure statements.)
As a consequence of the USPTO’s transition from OACS to the Patents End-to-End Official Correspondence (OC) tool, the PaDaCap contractor is no longer required to perform this reference capture procedure.
