“WIPO Int’l Reg.
Allowed Design#s” NOTATION ON PALM BIBLIOGRAPHIC DATA SHEET (Series Code 35)
The information in this bulletin will be included in the 2020 revision of
DATA ENTRY MANUAL FOR NON-UTILITY PATENT DOCUMENTS,
OTHER THAN PATENT APPLICATION PUBLICATIONS.
***This bulletin is effective immediately.***
See DATA ENTRY MANUAL FOR NON-UTILITY PATENT DOCUMENTS, OTHER THAN PATENT APPLICATION PUBLICATIONS, Section I. DESIGN PATENT.
The following new sub-section is inserted immediately before the sub-section called Representative Drawing (Series Code 29).
“WIPO Int’l Reg. Allowed Design#s” Notation on PALM Bibliographic Data Sheet (Series Code 35)
The following applies only to Series Code 35 (Hague) applications allowed on/after May 27, 2019.
Any Series Code 35 (Hague) application allowed on/after May 27, 2019, must show a WIPO Int’l Reg. Allowed Design#s notation in the bottom portion of its latest BIB (PALM bibliographic data) sheet. The notation’s location is fixed, as shown in the example on the next page.
The notation must include the words WIPO Int’l Reg. Allowed Design#s, a colon, and one or more Arabic numerals separated by commas.
For example, see the circled portion of the BIB sheet on the following page.
The PaDaCap contractor will initiate a printer RUSH when all of the following conditions are met:
1. The application number uses Series Code 35 (Hague).
2. The mail date of the Notice of Allowance (NOA) is on/after May 27, 2019.
3. The WIPO Int’l Reg. Allowed Design#s notation has been omitted from the most recent PALM bibliographic data sheet (BIB), or there is no BIB.
The notation text WIPO Int’l Reg. Allowed Design#s: will appear only when at least one design number is shown, so there should be no instance of a notation that’s present but incomplete (with nothing after the colon). Also, the PaDaCap contractor is not required to make sure that the design number(s) in the notation is/are the same as the design number(s) in the design description, and is not required to make sure that the design number(s) in the notation is/are the same as the design number(s) on the drawing sheets.
