About this file
This file contains Standard Labor Categories (SLCs) for a NASA contract, providing detailed descriptions, minimum education requirements, and minimum experience requirements for various positions at Johnson Space Center. The document outlines specifications for approximately 40 different labor categories, including administrative specialists, engineers, scientists, technicians, medical professionals, and management positions. Each category is clearly defined with specific responsibilities and qualifications, ranging from entry-level positions requiring only a high school diploma to senior roles requiring advanced degrees and extensive experience. Key technical positions include multiple levels of engineers (I through VI) requiring bachelor's degrees and 0-20 years of experience, IT specialists with progressive responsibility levels, and scientific positions requiring advanced degrees. Medical positions include nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and various technician roles with specific certification requirements.
The SLCs establish the baseline qualifications structure for staffing the Human Health and Performance Contract 2 (HHPC2). Notable features include both exempt and non-exempt positions, detailed progression paths within job families (e.g., Engineer I through VI, Scientist I through VI), and specific certification requirements for medical and technical positions. The document provides clear delineation between entry, mid-level, and senior positions within each category, with corresponding increases in required education and experience. Many positions require specific certifications, licenses, or security clearances, particularly in medical and safety-related roles.
