Questions / Clarifications

The following questions and issues were submitted via email. The Government response or clarification is provided.

1. This project includes approximately 28,000 LF of fiber rolls, which is a significant quantity. After the completion of the project, when all erosion control measures are removed, can the wood chips inside the fiber rolls be left on site? If so, what are the acceptable methods for doing so? For example, would it be permissible to dig a shallow trench along the alignment and bury the material on site? Please advise.

Response: Wood chip inside the fiber roll is allowed to spread on the shoulders after completion of the construction work as long as material meets the FP-24 requirements.

If the material is not bio-degradable than it is contractors’ responsibility to remove from the project site. Burying the material is not allowed on this project.

2. Is there a geotechnical report available for this project?

Response: There is no geotechnical report developed for this project.

3. Also, can the roadway excavation (CUYD) material be reused in the embankment? I believe having the geotechnical report would help us determine whether the existing aggregate pavement material can be used as fill to prepare the embankment, if suitable.

Response: Geotechnical Report was not developed for this project. Please refer to

Section 204 of the FP-24 and Special Contract Requirements (SCR’s), suitable excavated material can be used for embankment construction according to Subsections

204.09, 204.10, and 204.15.

4. I am reaching out to see if we could get the CAD files for the solicitation referenced above?

Response: CAD Files will be provided to the awardee after the task order has been awarded.
