About this file

This amendment modifies a solicitation for the MT NPS GLAC 14(4), Many Glacier Road Rehabilitate and MT Glacier 14(1), Many Glacier Road projects. The work includes repairing three bridges, two of which need minor concrete repair and waterproofing, while the third requires replacing timber girders. The 12-mile project is located 0.5 miles west of Babb, Montana, and has an estimated price range of $15-20 million and a tentative completion date of Fall 2021. The amendment revises load restriction requirements, construction schedules and traffic accommodation terms, adds notes on bollard installation and temporary utility systems, and updates preservative treatment specifications for Douglas fir glulam materials. Interested vendors must register on FBO to view the vendor list and access preliminary plans and additional information. The full solicitation will be posted after documents are issued.

713.03 Fertilizer. Add the following:

(a) Fertilizer for turf establishment. Furnish fertilizer with the following minimum percentages of available nutrients:

Nutrient Quantity per slurry unit

Nitrogen 2.5 pounds

Phosphorus 7.5 pounds

Each ingredient is acceptable up to 5 percent over the minimum requirements.

Supply this information with the certification.

713.04 Seed. Add the following:

Furnish a mixture consisting of the following kinds of seed with the corresponding percentages by weight of “live seed”:

Mountain bromegrass, Bromus carinatus 35%

Bluebunch wheatgrass, Pseudoroegneria spicata 25%

Western wheatgrass, Pascopyrum smithii 15%

Rough fescue, Festuca campestris 10%

Rubber rabbitbrush, Ericameria nauseosa 10%

Determine the amount of “live seed” in a container by the following formula:

Net weight of seed in container multiplied by the purity percentage multiplied by the germination percentage. (If seed is 85 percent pure and tests 90 percent germination, then a 100-pound (45.4 kilogram) container would contain 76.5 pounds (34.7 kilograms) of “live seed”.)
