About this file
This document is a comprehensive Signage Standards guide prepared by PLANIT Studios for Franklin County, Ohio, establishing design intent and fabrication specifications for an interior and exterior signage package across the Franklin County Government Center campus located at 760 Lakeview Plaza Boulevard, Suite 500, Worthington, Ohio. The project encompasses extensive signage requirements including exterior building identification signs, entrance pylons, parking garage directional and identification signage, interior office and room identification signs, directories, wayfinding signage, restroom and life safety signage, and miscellaneous specialized signs across multiple buildings including the Franklin County Office Tower, Michael J. Dorrian Building, Court of Common Pleas, Franklin County Municipal Court, Juvenile Intervention Center, and two parking garage facilities. The scope requires a qualified sign contractor to conduct site walkthroughs prior to bidding, develop a comprehensive message schedule with full-color proofs for Franklin County Project Manager approval, secure all required signage permits from local authorities, and provide fabrication and installation services in compliance with the latest state and federal building codes and ADA 2012 requirements for tactile and Braille signage.
The selected sign contractor assumes total responsibility for final control drawings, engineering, materials selection, sign fabrication, and installation, while Franklin County disclaims responsibility for engineering, materials not specified, fabrication, installation, or non-compliant products developed without prior written consent. All materials must conform to specified standards, including 3M, Avery, and Oracal vinyl for graphic film applications, with all signage utilizing Roboto or Arial fonts as designated. The contractor must provide one full-scale physical sample of each sign type for approval by PLANIT and Franklin County's Project Manager before fabrication commences, manage the installation process through the Sign Agent software platform with electronic tablets, and photograph each installed sign for documentation. The project will be managed through Sign Agent, a third-party software system, with PLANIT providing one online training session for the contractor's installation team. Additional requirements include removal and patching of existing signage on a 1-for-1 basis, utility checks for exterior ground signage, coordination of permitting and inspections, and daily cleanup to maintain work areas in equal or better condition than pre-installation.
